The Role of the Criminal Defense Attorney

Our Role

The role of the criminal defense lawyer is one of the few occupations literally created by the United States Constitution. Our nations’ founders wanted to ensure, by the Sixth Amendment, that people charged with criminal acts by the Government, be it Municipal, State or Federal, receive effective assistance of counsel. This was deemed to be of such importance because they recognized when a person is charged with a criminal act by a government entity, their liberty and freedom is at stake.
